Grant Evans hopes his game will benefit from him being a fully-fledged Morton player this season.
The defender was at the Cappielow club on loan from Hamilton Accies last term but has now been snapped up on a permanent deal by boss Allan Moore.
The 21-year-old said: "I feel a bit more secure going into this season than I did 12 months ago.
"I didn't really know who I belonged to last year – was I a Hamilton player or a Morton player?
"When you are on loan you do your best for the team and the manager but signing up with Morton and being a Morton player officially is great.
"I just need to get my head down and work hard. I can't wait for the season to start.
"We have had quite a lot of players moving in and out.
"A couple of boys turned down contracts and we have brought in a few new faces.
"Hopefully they can help make the team even better than we were last year.
"We want to try and build on what we did last year and push on further up the league."
