THE fight between David Haye and Dereck Chisora will go ahead after the Luxembourg Boxing Federation (LBF) reiterated its support, despite a threat of expulsion from the European Boxing Union (EBU).

The heavyweight grudge match at Upton Park on July 14 has had to be sanctioned by the LBF as both fighters do not hold a British licence.

Last weekend the EBU general assembly said the LBF would be thrown out of the European organisation if they continued to back the fight.

But the LBF have voted in favour of supporting the bout by eight votes to four.

A statement from Frank Warren Promotions claimed: "The LBF is backing the show along with the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) and the World Boxing Association (WBA), whose International and Intercontinental titles will be contested."

The British Boxing Board of Control threatened to expel those involved without a hearing, although they since claimed anyone charged would be able to answer their case.
