PADRAIG HARRINGTON today revealed how he is preparing for his bid to land a hat-trick of Open triumphs – by putting his feet up.

Harrington is the fourth favourite with the bookmakers to win his third Claret Jug.

The Irishman won the Major in fine style at Carnoustie in 2007 and then at Royal Birkdale in 2008 – and he is certainly in encouraging form.

He said: "I haven't done much this week. I am not going to find much in my game at this stage.

"I will just work on my routines, on my overall attitude, my putting, and also try to do a bit of general short-game stuff.

"Sure, I am getting nervous and excited – but that is what you want ahead of the tournament. It is massively different. Trying not to overdo things is really hard."

Meanwhile, three-time winner Tiger Woods could go back to world No.1 if he wins his first Major since the 2008 US Open.
