CLYDE boss Jim Duffy has completed his fourth summer signing with the capture of former Partick Thistle midfielder Ryan MacBeth.
The youngster has penned a two-year deal with the Bully Wee and follows Jamie Barclay, Stuart McColm and John Kane in making the switch to Broadwood ahead of the new Irn-Bru Third Division campaign.
MacBeth made just a handful of appearances for Thistle after emerging through the Jags' youth ranks and spent time on loan in Cumbernauld last year, playing five times before returning to Firhill.
He was unable to make the breakthrough into the first team, however, and left Jackie McNamara's side in March by mutual consent.
After spending several weeks training with Clyde, he has done enough to win over Duffy and convince him he is worthy of a deal for the new campaign.
The 21-year-old will now be given the chance to kick-start his career with the Bully Wee, and Duffy is confident the midfielder can make a big impact in the Third Division.
"I'm delighted with the signing," he said. "When Ryan left Thistle last season, he came in and trained with us for a few weeks and I invited him back for pre-season.
"His ability was never in question, we just needed to see about his fitness. He has recovered well from an operation, has looked good so far and was very keen to sign for us.
"He will certainly boost our options."
