DEAN SHIELS will have a medical with Rangers today as he edges closer to a move to Ibrox.

And he could be joined in Govan by striker Craig Beattie and Greek star Pantelis Kafes.

Former Kilmarnock forward Shiels has been offered a four-year deal to make the switch from the Scottish Premier League to the Irn-Bru Third Division and could become Ally McCoist's second signing of the summer.

The Gers boss has just four weeks left to strengthen his squad before the club are hit with an SFA player registration embargo and has several targets lined up to bolster his depleted Ibrox ranks.

Ex Hearts striker Beattie has been offered a deal to come on board but he also has a contract on the table from League One club Notts County.

The move for Kafes is nearing completion and will come as a major boost for McCoist as midfielder Alejandro Bedoya gets set to seal a move to Sweden.

Meanwhile, Dorin Goian is set to commit his future to Rangers – just days after appearing to be heading for the Ibrox exit door.

He said: "I played on Sunday and have to admit now there is a real possibility I will stay here.

"I suppose it depends on what Charles Green wants. But right now I have not spoken with anyone.

"I have said it before, if a concrete offer comes in for me then maybe I would leave. But I have had offers and none of them interested me.

"Right now I am a Rangers player and happy to be one."
