CELTIC defender Mikael Lustig may need a hip operation before the new season.
The Swede has had a disappointing time at Euro 2012, but the news he may have to go under the knife before the start of the season will be a blow to Celtic boss Neil Lennon.
Lustig's time at Parkhead has been blighted by injury and he has had a series of setbacks since arriving in the winter transfer window.
The 25-year-old came on as a sub during Sweden's defeat to England at the European Championships and said he has been playing through the pain barrier.
"I feel numb. I have had problems with my hip for a while," he said.
"I'll see if I need an operation after the European Champion- ships.
"I didn't start against England because I was injured and the manager made the decision. He just didn't want to take any chances."
