NEIL LENNON expects to secure striker Gary Hooper and keeper Fraser Forster on new deals this summer.

Lennon has wasted no time dwelling on the 2-0 defeat to Barclays Premier League club Norwich City in the Adam Drury Testimonial.

He was returning to the SPL champions' training complex at Lennoxtown today for contract talks with Forster's representative, and the Hoops gaffer revealed he is optimistic he will be able to reach an agreement with the Englishman to make his stay in Glasgow a permanent one.

He is also hopeful lucrative new terms can be agreed with top scorer Hooper, who banged in 29 goals last season, to stay at Parkhead. He has played down reports stating Celtic may not be able to afford a hitman who has been attracting strong interest from new English top flight club Southampton.

Lennon has also admitted that he IS keen on adding Rosenborg midfielder Markus Henriksen to his squad ahead of the return to the Champions League next season.

He said: "Forster's agent is in today and we are hopeful we can move things on pretty quickly on that front.

"I have been delighted with him for the two years he has been here and are hoping we can bed him down for another two or three years.

"We would like to tie up Gary too and I would like to think we can do so. He is happy here and he has a platform to thrive.

"He has played European football and has scored in Champions League games, Europa League games and big games in Scotland."

Lennon added: "Gary is one of our best players and I think he should be paid accordingly. He has been magnificent for two seasons. He came to us a relatively unknown player from Scunthorpe and he has now become one of our top players, our most important players.

"Quite rightly, he is looking to get a wage increase. I don't have a problem with that. I can't see us not agreeing to get a deal done for him.

"We have already done preliminary talks for him and they will carry on over the next few weeks. There is a bit of mileage to go in both of them."

Meanwhile, Lennon also confessed that Norwegian ace Henriksen, whose club has stated they are expecting an offer to come in from Celtic, has caught his eye.

He remarked: "We haven't made any contact with the club yet, but he is a player we admire.

"We have a bit of work to do in terms of trimming the squad before we can even think about bringing players in. We have targets for three or four positions.

"I am not going to lie, we do like the player, but I'm not sure if we will be able to get a bid going in the next few days or so. There is nothing on that at the minute."
