A YOUNG woman is recovering from a horrific sex attack in Glasgow's West End.
The 22-year-old was indecently assaulted by a man in the popular student area of Woodlands in the early hours of Saturday.
Police are hunting a man who is said to be of Eastern European origin.
He approached the woman around 2.30am and began talking to her as she walked south along Woodlands Road, near the roundabout at Park Road.
As she walked away, he followed, and forced her into a close next to the Sculpture hairdressing shop, where he indecently assaulted her.
Some passers-by came to the woman's rescue, and the attacker ran away.
He was last seen heading north along Park Road.
Although she was not seriously injured, the woman has been left badly shaken by the ordeal.
Police at the West End office are urging anyone with information to contact them.
The attacker is described as 6ft, in his mid to late 20s, broad shouldered, with short dark hair. He was wearing a black jacket and black trousers.
Detective Sergeant Alan Brown is appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact him on 0141 532 3500, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
