We've had so long to come to terms with it, but it won't make saying goodbye any easier when The Art School closes its doors for good.

It's all over after tomorrow's Art School Degree Show and Closing Party extravaganza, which features sets from the likes of Errors (who will be playing their supreme electronic post-rock live), the chaps from stellar local collective/label LuckyMe; Mungo's Hi- Fi, and Hushpuppy.

It's hard to imagine the impact that the loss of the Art School will have on our club scene. The list of legendary nights and parties that spawned from it is endless: Divine, RPZ, Mixed Bizness, One More Tune, Numbers and countless others owe much to its grubby art deco walls and checkered dancefloor.

To say it will be sadly missed goes beyond understatement. But what better way to see it off than checking out the work of the ridiculously talented people who study there followed by a riotous night of eclectic dance music. Pack some Kleenex for this one: it might get emotional.

SWG3 spree

I'm sure the sprawling, sinister space that is SWG3's warehouse has seen some debauched antics in its time, but whether they can compete with what tonight's City Night is going to throw up is a different matter.

Thunder Disco Club are up there with Hugh Hefner when it comes to saucy fun, so this latest warehouse party should be no exception.

Thunder Disco was conceived in the Lite Club in Virginia Place and has came of age at a dizzying speed, hosting nights in Glasgow's hippest venues and nabbing support slots at The Wee Chill.

Aurally they are a joyful marriage of NY and Italo Disco, funk and early house: glistening synths and elastic basslines are impossible to resist at the best of times, never mind when combined with their irrepressible testosterone-fuelled kitsch.

They're joined by multinational purveyors of classic house Feel My Bicep, who dispense with the retro shtick but are highly danceable nonetheless.

Day at the Ivy

Endurance really isn't my strong point. I'm like Usain Bolt: better suited to short, sharp bursts of exertion. So this marathon all-dayer at The Ivy as part of the West End Festival excites and terrifies me in equal measure.

It kicks off at 1pm and will have sets from the Phuturelabs DJs (who will be dropping techno, electronica, dubstep and just about everything inbetween); Radio Magnetic DJs, exponents of the UK's longest running internet radio station; and a myriad of guests who will deliver enough underground electro over the day to satisfy even the most insatiable beat fiend.

I urge you to attend this if even just for the burgers. I have never experienced such all-consuming joy as I did chowing down on one of The Ivy's patties.

The Ivy also hosts the afterparty for the Hidden Lane Festival on June 25.
