It seems like just weeks since the Easter Electric Frog left us with ringing ears and holes in our shoes, but it is already time for the summer edition.

Despite being cut to a single day, it is still looking like one of the best parties of the entire summer.

Housed in the post-industrial surroundings of studio warehouse SWG3, it is a two-pronged aural assault.

Pressure are in charge of the (under cover) street party, which will play host to Dubfire's deep, anthemic techno, Marc Houle's tight tech beats, and homegrown techno talents Orde Meikle (of Slam) and Graeme Reedie of Silicone Soul.

Indoors, Optimo are on familiar territory curating the warehouse party. They have managed to coax Nitzer Ebb, pioneers of the hard-hitting industrial sound of the 1980s, into their only UK performance this year.

Also tearing up the murky warehouse will be ghetto house scamp DJ Funk, glitchy electronic duo Instra:mental and Pro-Vinylist Karim, a regular at Optimo's Hung Up! at the Sub Club.

l Electric Frog Summer Festival, Saturday, SWG3, 3-11pm, £22.50 from Tickets Scotland.

Pinups fun

The Pinup Night's chaps charm our socks off on the last Friday of every month with their delightful shtick.

Tomorrow night sees the Pinup Nights Summer Camp take over the Flying Duck, transforming it into the kind of holiday destination we all remember from a childhood spent in foggy Butlins caravan parks .

The Pinups will become indie red coats, laying on family-sized ball pools, a death slide, old school consoles, art classes and other such kitsch delights.

In the Flying Duck's kitchen, expect campfire songs, ghost stories, and a "slightly salacious" version of the Pinup Nights fanzine, which along with a Summer Camp badge and an ice lolly will be handed out to the lucky first 100 to arrive.

Playing live will be Eddy and the T-Bolts, Fiction Faction and Camino Real.

l Pinup Nights Summer Camp, Tomorrow, The Flying Duck, 9pm-3am, £5.

Nicolas night

New Yorker Nicolas Jaar makes beautiful, broken music with minimalist instrumentation and sparse, heavy post-dubstep beats.

What I'm trying to say here is it's strange and beguiling, and he's playing it at The Arches tomorrow.

Don't expect this to be a rave-your-faces-off type of affair: while Jaar's music is certainly dance influenced, it's more chin-stroking muso fare than the 4/4, hands-in-the-air stuff usually experienced here.

His live show has impressed crowds at Glastonbury, London's Fabric and Berlin's Bar 25: The Arches should be no different.

Support comes from Valentin Stip, described by Jaar himself as "sad, slow, intelligent electronic music". There's an afterparty until 3am with the Highlife DJs, spinning highly danceable "future afrobeat."

l Nicolas Jaar and Valentin Stip, Tomorrow, The Arches, 7.30pm-3am, £8.

Secret rave-up

An all-night rave up in a secret forest location? Is this really happening? We are not entirely sure, but if social media is to be believed some of Glasgow's hippest DJs are on board.

Hahaha, Chungo Bungo, Vitamins, Floyd and the Homebass DJs are rumoured to be playing a 200-capacity marquee in the middle of nowhere on a booming soundsystem, and the only way to attend is to e-mail the organisers for directions or a bus ticket.

Wherever you are, I tip my hat to you, secret forest ravers.

l Shire Forest Party, Sunday-Monday, Secret Location, £15.

Holiday prize

Corona Extra launches Corona Island at Karbon this Saturday and one lucky clubber who attends the event will be in with the chance to jet off to the White Isle 'instantly' with three friends.

To be in with a chance of winning the trip, clubbers can enter a prize draw via special brand ambassadors at the Corona Island night.

The lucky winner will be announced 'live' on the night, with flights departing the next day to the sunshine isle.

The holiday includes two nights' luxury accommodation in the heart of Ibiza's clubbing district, transfers and insurance.

Saturday's event will be headlined by top DJs, and will see performances from break-dancers, 'glow' jugglers, percussionists and 'Ibiza Angels' at the late night hotspot.
