JOHN KENNEDY'S injury jinx has struck again - with Scotland boss George Burley looking on from the stand.

The on-loan Celtic defender suffered ankle ligament damage last night as Norwich City lost 1-0 to QPR at Carrow Road.

Burley had travelled to watch Kennedy in action after receiving positive reports about his performances since moving on loan to the Canaries in July.

He is looking at centre-half options with skipper Stephen McManus suspended for the crucial visit of Norway on October 11.

But the 25-year-old, who seriously injured a knee playing for Scotland against Romania in a friendly over four years ago after a horror tackle, limped off in agony in the 63rd minute and now faces an anxious sweat to see the full extent of the problem.

Meantime, Scotland fans have reacted with fury after the date of the World Cup qualifier against the Norwegians in Oslo next year was brought forward a week from August 19 to August 12.

Thousands of fans had already booked flights and hotels for the trip to Oslo for what will be the last match in Scotland's bid to make the 2010 World Cup.

"In the current financial climate, I fear supporters will not be able to afford the costs of this change," said Alan Duncan, a Tartan Army branch chairman.
