Employees of Balfour Beatty Engineering Services (BBES) and their families raised £12,554 for Yorkhill Children’s Foundation when they took part in the recent Cumbrae Challenge.
More than 80 ‘athletes’ took part in the challenge: an 11-mile walk, run, cycle or other ‘self-propelled’ means of getting around the island, off the west coast.
Bob James, business development manager who cycled round the course, stated: “A fabulous day was had by all. Everyone got into the team spirit and helped each other along, and the sun shone all day long.”
Abigail Stein of Yorkhill Children’s Foundation said: “We are delighted that the BBES team chose to support us and raised this money. The foundation provides enhanced medical equipment and resources which benefit sick children and babies.”
