A TEENAGER has been arrested after a man died following a lunchtime street fight.

The 31-year-old suffered serious injuries in the incident in Leithland Road, Pollok, around 12.45pm yesterday and died a short time later.

Police said a 16-year-old male had been arrested in connection with the death.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today and a full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

The incident happened in the same street where convicted killer Kevin McCluskey was shot dead on his doorstep.

McCluskey, 39, was shot three times in February 2006.

John McDonald, 24, was jailed for life for shooting McCluskey, whom he believed had killed his father.

McDonald targeted McCluskey after he was accused of murdering Derek McDonald three years earlier.

McCluskey made several court appearances accused of the murder but never went to trial after the prosecution dropped the charge due to a lack of evidence.

And 13 years ago, McCluskey was jailed for five years at London's Old Bailey for killing a teenager in a street fight.

In another incident in the same street in January 2001, John Davidson, a 24-year-old construction worker, was stabbed to death.

Two men were jailed for life for the murder.
