TODAY is just another Monday for most of us ... but not for Daniel Craig, the latest incarnation of James Bond and, for many fans, the best since Sean Connery.

Work is proceeding apace on the 22nd Bond movie, which, we learned a few days ago, is to be called Quantum of Solace.

While Bond fans have been busy arguing about the deeper meaning of the title, Craig himself has been filming at Pinewood Studios, where parts of the Italian city of Siena have been re-created.

Among the sets is the vast interior of an art gallery, complete with large statues, and an underground MI6 safe-house, described by one eye- witness as resembling a crypt from a Harry Potter film, "with massive stone columns and huge wooden beams."

It's also been said that the film will open with a mammoth car chase through the streets of the city.

Quantum of Solace is scheduled to open in cinemas on November 7, and the buzz is building already.

While some Bond purists continue to turn their noses up at Craig, and at the re-tooled' Bond seen in Casino Royale, there's little doubt that Quantum of Solace will be one of the event films of the year, at home as well as abroad.

It's the longest-running film franchise in history, starting with Sean Connery as Dr No in 1962.

Sean was followed by George Lazenby (briefly), Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, but the role now belongs to Daniel.

Though he has said goodbye to the swimming trunks he wore in Casino Royale, he's clearly loving playing Bond.

We asked you: what's your top 007 movie? Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan, Craig name your top Bond movie GRAEME PATTERSON, 33, Motorola worker, City Centre: I haven't seen most of them but I enjoyed Goldfinger. I thought Sean Connery was really good in it. IAN BLACK, 33, dental assistant, Glasgow: Man With The Golden Gun, with Roger Moore, is my favourite because I loved the cheesiness of it. NICOLA CASSIDY, 26, student, Cumbernauld: Casino Royale was the first Bond movie that I had seen and I really enjoyed it. FRANCIS CASSIDY, 51, teacher, Cumbernauld: Sean Connery was the original Bond and I loved all the movies he was in, but Goldfinger would be my favourite. ALISON LAMBIE, 20, student, Burnside: I've seen a couple of Bond movies that Sean Connery was in, but my favourite would be Casino Royale. JIMMY O'NEILL, 55, foster carer, Milton: My favourite Bond movie is Goldfinger. I like all the movies with Sean Connery in them. He is the best Bond. CAMERON SMITH, 22, student, Renfrew: I have not seen many Bond films apart from a few Brosnan ones, but I would say that the last movie, Casino Royale, was my favourite. MATTHEW SIBLEY, 18, student, City Centre: From Russia With Love is my favourite James Bond movie. Sean Connery is in it and he is definitely the best.
