A TEENAGER was stabbed in an early morning attack on Boxing Day.
The 17-year-old suffered serious stab wounds during the incident in Clydebank yesterday morning.
It is understood a fight broke out, at around 6am, during a house party at a nearby property.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the incident outside a row of shops, on Faifley Road, after local residents raised the alarm.
The victim was taken, by ambulance, to the Western Infirmary in Glasgow.
He was said to be in a serious but stable condition.
One local resident said the young man had been chased by two other men before being stabbed "several times".
The row of shops, including a newsagents, was closed and the surrounding area was sealed off by police.
Officers were seen searching the street and the grass verge for evidence.
A police spokeswoman said: "We received a report that a man had been assaulted in Faifley Road, Clydebank.
"Our investigations are at an early stage and we would appeal for anyone with any information to come forward."
