CHRISTMAS has come early for group of schoolchildren after an anonymous donor stepped in to save their Nativity play.

As reported in Saturday's edition of the Evening Times, the children at Garscadden Primary, in Knightswood, discovered that mice had nibbled at the costumes for their upcoming Christmas show.

The school, which had a mouse problem that was dealt with last March, didn't realise the rodents had caused so much damage until they got the clothes out for the rehearsal last week.

Now, after reading about the children's plight, a kind-hearted anonymous donor has ensured the show will go on.

The money has been used to buy new costumes for the 30 children who will perform in the play.
