A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 21-year-old on Hogmanay.
Ryan Sherry was fatally injured during a disturbance in Petershill Road, Springburn, Glasgow, at 10.30pm on December 31. He was taken to the Royal Infirmary, where he died.
Alan Cowan, 22, from Springburn, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday charged with murder and assault to injury.
He made no plea or declaration at the private hearing and was remanded in custody.
The case was continued for further examination until Cowan's next court appearance, expected to be on January 16.
