A STRETCH of Scottish shoreline has been voted one of the top 20 coastal destinations in the world by National Geographic magazine.
The Moray Firth coast from Inverness to Peterhead was praised for "outstanding cliff scenery" and "strong community feeling".
The magazine's "destinations rating" survey, voted for by readers and tourism experts, placed the area among 99 other scenic coastal regions, including Na Pail in Hawaii and the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland.
