POLICE have confirmed that a body pulled from the River Clyde is that of missing man John McFadden.
The 57-year-old, from the Gorbals, was reported missing more than a month ago after discharging himself from a Glasgow hospital. Strathclyde Police Officers were alerted at around 10.45am yesterdayafter a body was seen in the water close to Glasgow Harbour.
The force helicopter was deployed to help with the recovery.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "We received a call at around 10.45am of a report of a body in the River Clyde.
"Emergency services attended and the body of a man was recovered."
Police confirmed relatives are aware and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of the death, however, there appear to be no suspicious circumstances.
Emergency services went to Meadowside Quay Lane and police and ambulances stayed at the scene.
