A WOMAN who donated a book of Burns poems to a charity shop as a child, rediscovered it in the shop where she works.
Gemma Parr, 31, found her copy of Burns for Bairns – which aimed at children – while at work at Barnardos in Victoria Road in the South Side.
She was 10-years-old when she was given it as a birthday gift in 1991 by her aunt, when the family lived in Ayrshire.
Her mum gave away the book a couple of year's later, and Gemma had not seen it since.
She rediscovered the book just days ago.
Gemma said: "I couldn't believe it when I saw it.
"When I was clearing up the shop I saw it and thought, 'I had that as a child', and it had the inscription in it from my auntie."
Gemma has now bought to book back, to give to her daughter Xian, 12.
