RAP superstar Eminem will headline a new music festival to be held over 10 days in Glasgow.

The American star has teamed up with promoters DF Concerts to become the first act to perform a Glasgow Summer Sessions date at the city's Bellahouston Park on August 20.

The Slim Shady rapper, plus guests will play the show, which is part of a new programme of three to five shows to take place over the summer.

Geoff Ellis, chief executive of organisers DF Concerts, said: "We are delighted to announce Eminem as the first major act for Glasgow Summer Sessions.

"As it's one of the most important music destinations in the world, we're also excited about what else we have to announce for Summer Sessions and there will be more news soon."

Eminem, who has sold more than 100 million records, headlined T in the Park in 2010 and will also perform at the Reading and Leeds festivals this year.
