HALF of Scots regularly dip into their savings to cover everyday living expenses, according to Bank of Scotland research.
A holiday is one of the main reasons, while unexpected outgoings and day-to-day expenses also gobble up savers' rainy-day cash.
Andy Bickers, Bank of Scotland savings director, said: "Wallets have been under strain for some time, so it is not surprising savings have moved down the priority list for many.
"It is clear many Scots are struggling to save in the current climate."
