A COW brought traffic to a standstill on Scotland's busiest motorway.
The animal caused chaos when it escaped from a field and wandered on to a stretch of the M8, as reported in later editions of yesterday's Evening Times.
Drivers doing up to 70mph had to suddenly swerve or slam on the brakes to avoid the animal.
The scenes soon led to vehicles queuing for three miles after the incident near Glasgow Airport.
Police and the SSPCA were called to help usher the animal off the carriageway.
Bosses at Glasgow Airport sent out messages on social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, to warn travellers of potential delays while they were heading on the M8 to head for flights.
