THOUSANDS of Juventus supporters are expected to land in Glasgow today.

Nearly 3000 fans of the Turin football giants are travelling to Scotland to see their team clash with SPL leaders Celtic tonight in the last 16 stage of the Champions League.

The Parkhead crunch match kicks off at 7.45pm.

Juve fans started arriving in the city yesterday but the majority of the travelling support are expected to touch down in Scotland today.

Two Juventus fans, Antonio Dallaserra, 47 and Damiela Proto, 25 arrived in the city yesterday.

The friends, from the Lake Garda area, decided to take in the sights of Glasgow before the big match.

Damiela, who wrapped his black and white Juventus scarf around his neck to protect him from the Scottish chill, said: "We are staying in the city and looking forward to the game tonight."

Antonio added: "We are excited to see Juventus play."

More Italian fans were spotted soaking up the sights on the Glasgow city tour bus.

A spokesman for Glasgow Airport said that, as usual, there are many flights landing in Glasgow from Italy but there are no chartered flights on the schedule.

A British Airways spokesman said their flights from Turin to London were busy with passengers but said no extra flights had been put on.

The Juventus team are also staying in the city centre and were spotted, by waiting fans, heading out to train at Rangers' facilities in Murray Park yesterday morning.

Keen supporters followed them out to the ground, near Milngavie, in the hope of catching a glimpse of their idols.

Juve midfielder and Italy international Andrea Pirlo was happy to oblige the waiting crowd as he signed autographs and spoke to supporters through the blue gates.

The fans also showed the team some encouragement ahead of tonight's game by cheering and waving flags and scarves.

Tonight's game is an all-ticket sell-out with more than 60,000 fans providing an atmosphere to remember.
