DRUGS worth more than £140,000 were discovered in a police raid at a house in North Lanarkshire.

The officers recovered around 240 cannabis plants, with a total street value of £144,000, from the property in Airdrie.

No arrests have been made yet after the operation at the house in Linkwood Road.

Police said an investigation is now under way.

A police spokeswoman , said: "Drugs with an estimated street value of £144,000 have been seized by police in Airdrie.

"Around 10.55am yesterday(WED), officers, acting under warrant, searched a house in Linkwood Road and 240 cannabis plants.

"Inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible."
