NOT all the posh frocks are at Cannes right now.

The film festival is currently the focus of paparazzi who bring us the latest looks of the top movie stars.

But the French city doesn't have the monopoly on glamour with thousands of proms, hen dos, weddings and garden parties happening across Glasgow over the summer months.

Occasionwear outlets are a riot of colour and embellish- ments to cater for the influx of style-savvy shoppers.

And the rails at Glasgow fast fashion emporium Quiz are teeming with ideas that have designer influences without the big price tags. Having expanded recently into the Middle East, North Africa and the former Soviet states, it has become clothing with international appeal snapped up by buyers from Parkhead to Pakistan, Motherwell to Morocco, Kirkcaldy to Kuwait and Aberdeen to Azerbaijan.

The signature of the label is a party dress collection that is flirtatious and affordable: think self-coloured, floor-sweeping maxi dresses, asymmetrical- hemmed cocktail dresses and cute-as-a-button prom styles.

Floral prints and animal accents give an unusual twist to the Summer 2013 collection, which was photographed at Chatelherault Country Park, in Hamilton.

The colourful summer palette is a celebration of cobalt blues, creamy vanillas, cool mints and hot reds.

The one-shouldered body-con dresses in figure-hugging fabrics are certainly not for wallflowers, while the lace details on prom dresses add a touch of sophistication.

Quiz was founded in Glasgow in 1995 with just three stores to specialise in clothing, footwear and accessories for women aged 15-35. It now has more than 200 stores in 20 countries globally, as well as concessions in 50 Debenhams stores.
