GLASGOW-made puppet film The Greyness of Autumn has been selected to play at a film festival.

The short comedy produced by Quick Off The Mark Productions will play on the opening night of the Deep Fried Film Festival in Coatbridge on August 10.

The film follows the final days in the life of Danny McGuire - voiced by former Scottish K1 Kickboxing Champion Duncan Airlie James - an ostrich living in Scotland.

Danny's life is suddenly turned upside down when he loses his job and his girlfriend in the same day.

As Danny struggles to reinvent himself in a society that treats him as a second-class citizen, he questions whether there is much point living in a world that will never see past the feathers.

The quirky film is the directorial debut of Glaswegian editor Chris Quick and has already been screened at the Edinburgh Short Film Festival and the Loch Ness Film Festival.
