ONE lucky Evening Times reader is celebrating the New Year after winning £1000.

Frances McLean landed our home delivery prize.

The delighted winner, from Drumchapel, said she was looking forward to treating her sister who turns 40 this month.

Frances said she was over the moon after she discovered she had won the windfall.

Paul Keaney, the Evening Times home delivery executive, visited Frances at home to hand over the £1000 cheque and congratulate her.

Frances said: "It is a great boost for the New Year.

"It's my sister's 40th birthday and that will mean I can get her something nice."

Frances has had the Evening Times delivered to her home for the past year by junior agent Ryan McLaughlin.

The 14-year-old is also a winner and will take home an Android tablet.

Frances enjoys reading our weekly puzzles page Games Times, which appears every Monday and Saturday.

Last month, mum-of-three Geraldine Smith, 45, got a special Christmas surprise when she became our December winner.

Her newspaper was delivered by junior agent Ted Hunter.

More than 1000 junior agents, usually aged between 13 and 16, distribute 16,000 copies of the paper each day, from Monday to Saturday, across Glasgow and the west of Scotland.
