The Commonwealth Games baton was welcomed by Ugandan officials as it visited the source of the White Nile.
Baluku Fharuk, President of the Gymnastic Association of Uganda, is pictured holding the baton beside lake Victoria near the Ugandan capital Kampala.
Among those who officially received the Queen's Baton were Uganda's elite athletes, runner Moses Kipsuru and steeplechaser Dorcus Inzikuru.
During the 288-day that the baton is "on the road" before arriving in Scotland, it will visit 70 nations and territories, covering 118,000 miles and involve one-third of the world's population.
