He's well-known for his serious side but Andy Murray has donned a smile to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease.

The Wimbledon Champion is supporting the Laugh to Cure Motor Neurone Disease campaign.

The disease causes damage to parts of the nervous system, progressive weakness and muscle wasting.

The condition claimed the life of Celtic star Jimmy Johnstone, who died in 2006.

Former Rangers player Fernando Ricksen recently revealed that he has also been diagnosed with the condition.

Andy's mum Judy Murray tweeted: "Here's @andy_murray laughing to cure mnd. Yes, yes do not adjust ur screens... he is smiling... #laughtocuremnd."

Fellow tennis player Victoria Azarenka tweeted: "#letsdothis help and spread awareness @LaughToCureMND Motor Neurone Disease, a great cause supported by everyone at the #WTA 'laughtocureMND."
