A TORCHLIT procession to mark Glasgow holding this year's Commonwealth Games was cancelled amid fears of severe wind and rainfall.
The event, organised by Glasgow University, was expected to attract 1500 people and was due to take place yesterday at 4pm, with a route from Glasgow Cathedral through to the university in the West End.
But organisers called it off it due to "public safety" fears after forecasters predicted high winds and rain. It is hoped to reschedule it at a later date.
