A MAN was due to appear in court today in connection with alleged drugs offences linked to ‘Mortal Kombat’ pills.
The 22-year-old was arrested in Glasgow city centre last night.
Mortal Kombat pills are
the same type of ecstasy linked to the death of 17-year-old Regane MacColl, of Duntocher, Dunbartonshire, who fell ill
at The Arches club at the weekend.
The man was expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
A police spokesman said: “A 22-year-old male was arrested in connection with alleged drugs offences in Glasgow city centre.”
Police issued a warning about the red Mortal Kombat tablet, which has an image of a dragon on it, following Ms MacColl’s death.
Four other young people were also taken to hospital after taking what is thought to be the same type of pill.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old youth has appeared in court
in connection with a haul of Mortal Kombat tablets.
Thomas McGuiness, of Bannockburn, Stirlingshire, appeared in private at Airdrie Sheriff Court. He faces two charges of being in possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply. He made no plea and was released on bail.
Both cases are not being linked to the death of Ms MacColl, who died after a suspected drug incident.
