KELVINGROVE Art Gallery will host an edition of the Antiques Roadshow later this year.

Presenter Fiona Bruce will be in the city on Thursday October 9 as part of the 37th series of the popular Sunday evening BBC show.

She said: "This will be my seventh year on Antiques Roadshow and I still feel so lucky to be presenting the programme."

Glasgow Life chairman Archie Graham said: "We are incredibly excited that the Roadshow has chosen to return to Kelvingrove.

"As home to one of Europe's finest art collections, we feel Kelvingrove is the perfect venue to delight visitors and viewers at home.

"Although it is impossible to guess what people will bring along, there are sure to be a few exciting surprises."

Some of Britain's leading antiques and fine art specialists will be on hand to offer free advice and valuations to visitors on the day.

They are being asked to raid their lofts and bring along their family heirlooms, household treasures and car boot bargains for the experts to inspect.

People with large pieces of furniture or other big items can send details and photographs to Antiques Roadshow, BBC, Whiteladies Road, Bristol BS8 2LR or email antiques.roadshow@bbc.co.uk.
