LOVE is in the air at George Square.

From today, the landmark will be filled with all things romantic to celebrate the annual love-fest that is Valentines Day.

Glasgow City of Love, which runs until February 16, will see lovebirds swoon to the square which has been packed with fair ground rides and attractions.

Organisers M&Ds, who run the amusements at Strathclyde Park, have brought a giant wheel and rides including the hair-raising Love Blast and the bumper-car style Love Bugs.

There is also the Love Globe which will be filled with hearts and petals for couples to capture their romance in a photograph.

And a huge four metre LED screen has been put up in the middle of the square for Glasgow couples to publicly declare their love for one another.

Organiser Douglas Taylor, from M&Ds, said: "This really is the perfect opportunity for couples to keep the spark in their relationship.

"We have the perfect mix of adrenaline and romance in our rides, the ideal combination for loved-up Glasgow couples.

"Whether you fancy a romantic ride on the Big Wheel or want to get the blood pumping by taking a trip on our Love Blast, there is something for everyone.

"Our selection of stalls selling love-themed food and drink will be sure to warm your hearts in time for Valentine's Day."

Glasgow City of Love will be welcoming sweethearts from 10am to 10pm every day from today until Sunday, February 16.

Admission is free.
