MOTORISTS faced long delays on the M8 around Glasgow following three separate incidents.

One female driver was injured after her car crashed into a lorry on the westbound carriageway at junction 15, Townhead, on Thursday.

The crash happened in the middle lane at around 7.15am and police and ambulance were called to the scene.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said one patient had been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

The road was cleared by around 7.45am, with earlier congestion to junction 9, Easterhouse.

Meanwhile, on the eastbound carriageway at junction 22, Plantation, four vehicles were involved in a pile up at 7.20am.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed no one was injured.

The vehicles were cleared to the hard shoulder with earlier congestion to junction 25, Cardonald.

At junction 12 a broken down vehicle caused delays on the westbound carriageway between junction 11 and junction 12.
