MORE than 2000 cannabis plants have been seized from a commercial building in North Lanarkshire.
The drugs, which police say have a street value of £1.2 million, were found at premises in an industrial estate on Mid Road, Cumbernauld.
Detectives acted on intelligence to carry out a raid on the property.
They say enquiries into the haul are continuing and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Sergeant Michelle Thomson, of Cumbernauld Community Investigation Unit, said: "Police Scotland will continue to pursue those involved in the drugs trade.
"This is a significant recovery and will certainly have an impact on those involved in the cultivation and further distribution of these drugs."
