PATRICK Harvie MSP took a spin through the streets of Glasgow on an eco-friendly electric bike to promote a week of action on climate change.

The leader of the Scottish Green Party and Evening Times columnist was joined on his journey up Hill Street in the city centre by Eilidh Sinclair, left, and Kathy Beckett.

They are taking part in Glasgow School of Art's Go Green Week, seven days of action on climate change in schools, colleges and universities across the country.

People taking part in the event, which runs until Monday, can get their bikes checked over, try an electric bike or become a vegetarian for a day.

Also on offer at the School of Art are workshops and information stalls aimed at promoting green living.
