AN elderly woman was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire took hold in her home.
Firefighters from Helensburgh battled a blaze at the house on Lineside Walk in Rhu, which broke out shortly before midnight on Tuesday.
The woman was given oxygen therapy at the scene and was checked over by paramedics.
Station Manager Stephen Harper said: "This was a fierce-going fire. The intensity of heat caused damage to the hallway and thick smoke affected about half the property.
"Thankfully the resident had ensured her home was protected by working smoke alarms."
