RIVERSIDE Museum is to host a top European museum award ceremony next month.
The prestigious Micheletti Awards recognise the best scientific, industrial and technological museum in Europe and are considered to be the most important award any museum operating in those fields can receive.
Andreja Rihter, president of the EMA, said: "Members of the European Museum Academy jury have had a long history of links with the city of Glasgow and its museums and so it is with the greatest pleasure that we bring our annual Micheletti Award meeting to Glasgow this year."
The award ceremony will take place in Riverside Museum which won the award in 2012.
Representatives from all 31 countries represented by the EMA are expected to attend and the judges will include Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg.
They will be invited to attend a gala dinner of the Tall Ship Glenlee which is moored outside Glasgow's transport museum.
