A MAN is due to appear in court today in connection with the death of a Glasgow grandmother.

Angela Humphrey's body was found in her flat in Quarrywood Avenue, Barmulloch, almost a week after she was last seen.

Police today revealed they had arrested a 55-year-old man, following an operation in the early hours of Monday morning.

He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later today in connection with the death of the 48-year-old.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 1.45am on Monday, March 3, following an intelligence-led operation, a 55-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death of Angela Humphrey. He is presently detained in police custody.

"The body of Ms Humphrey was found in Quarrywood Avenue, in Glasgow, on Wednesday."

Earlier this week, it was revealed she is related to Sean Humphrey, who was found dead on Monday, October 28, in Etive Street, Shettleston.

Two men have been arrested in connection with 26-year-old Sean Humphrey's death.

Police stressed the two cases are not linked.
