STAFF at a city eatery are expecting hoards of diners during its final weekend of trading.
Dino's Italian restaurant on Sauchiehall Street will close its doors on Monday after serving Glasgow food fans for more than 50 years.
Owner Alfredo Crolla decided to retire after receiving an offer for the site from the Halifax, who want to turn it into a new bank.
Assistant manager Tony Crolla said staff were anticipating more than 1000 diners today, with another rush expected tomorrow and Monday.
Tony said: "There's a lot of history in here, and so many people thought it would last forever. Nobody expected it to end.
"We do have a special relationship with the customers because we're not like a chain, we don't follow corporate rules and we are allowed to be ourselves."
A total of 39 staff work in the city centre restaurant, with the longest serving employees working for between 30 and 35 years.
The original restaurant was opened by Swiss-Italian Francis Ferrari in the 60s but the eatery at 10 Sauchiehall Street was later acquired by Dino Baldi, and the name was changed to Dino Ferrari.
Later the venue moved to 35-41 Sauchiehall Street, where it has remained for more than 30 years.
