THIS special tartan marked the 60th anniversary of Enable Scotland.
The plaid came to mainland Scotland by boat from the Isle of Bute, where it was produced.
It was officially handed over in Wemyss Bay to workers from the charity, which supports parents in Scotland with children who have learning disabilities.
The bright orange thread running through the tartan highlights that boys and girls continue to be born every day in Scotland with learning disabilities, or develop them later in life.
The colours used in the tartan are Enable Scotland's official colours.
The bolt of tartan will now be turned into Enable Scotland tartan scarves and ties, letting the charity celebrate its diamond anniversary in style on April 9.
It was founded in Glasgow in 1954 by 10 parents of children with learning disabilities.
