DEMAND for hotel rooms in Glasgow reached a record high last month.
A new report shows occupancy in the city averaged 78.3% in February - the best figure since monthly records began in 1999.
Research carried out for Greater Glasgow Hotels Association found average occupancy rates last month were 5.3% higher than in February 2013.
February was the ninth consecutive month of record-breaking occupancy rates.
Tourism market research specialists LJ Forecaster found occupancy reached above 93% on five nights during the month.
Experts said February's visitor influx can be attributed to a number of key events.
Rates peaked at 99% on February 1, which coincided with the opening of the Glasgow Film Festival and the Strictly Come Dancing Tour at the SSE Hydro.
