POLICE are searching for a Glasgow student who has been missing for nearly a week.

Fanqi Zhai was last seen by his partner leaving his home in Harbour Terrace, Partick, on Thursday, March 27.

The 25-year-old Glasgow Caledonian University student is described as 5ft 10in, slim build with short brown hair and clean shaven.

He was last seen wearing a grey turtle neck woollen jumper, black jeans and dark blue suede boots and white soles.

Detectives are carrying out extensive inquiries in the Greater Glasgow area and have urged anyone with information about Fanqi's whereabouts to come forward.

Inspector Robert Park, of Glasgow West End Police Office, said: "It is out of character for Fanqi not to keep in contact with his friends or family and they are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety.

"Fanqi is a student at Glasgow Caledonian University and extensive enquiries are ongoing in the Greater Glasgow area to trace him.

"Anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.

"I would also urge Fanqi himself to contact his family friends or Police Scotland as soon as possible, to confirm that he is safe and well."
