Larger than life Backstreet Boy AJ McLean visited a Glasgow kilt shop to decide whether or not he wants to be a true Scotsman.

The singer visited the King of Kilts MacGregor and MacDuff in the city centre on Wednesday prior to his band taking to the Hydro stage last night.

McLean, whose father's family originally hail from the Isle of Mull and are one of the oldest Highland clans, boasted about his Scottish roots throughout the concert.

He came on stage with his daughter Ava and said, "You know daddy's Scottish, this is your family."

He then told the audience he had visited the kilt shop because he wanted to get the tartan of the McLean clan.

He beamed that he managed to find a kilt, and added: "I'm gonna take it home and frame it, and then I'm gonna come back and wear it."

The star later wore the kilt on stage - which changed colour because of the lighting - and he even attempted to do a Scottish accent but he never revealed if he was a true Scotsman.

But who cares when he can dance like this in a kilt?

Staff at the kilt shop said McLean came in with his family and was lovely.
