GLASGOW has been named as one of the UK's worst youth unemployment "blackspots" in a new report.
However, Glasgow City Council has slammed the report by the Work Foundation.
The report claims that unemployment among 16 to 24-year-olds was over 25% in many cities, including Glasgow.
Lizzie Crowley of the Work Foundation said: "In some cities almost a third of young people are looking for work but are unable to find it."
A Glasgow City Council spokesman said the "authority absolutely do not recognise" the unemployment rate of 27.3% attributed to it.
