It's not too late to get involved with the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The volunteer programme Host City Glasgow, a project led by Glasgow Life, is accepting applications from now until May 9.

Host City Volunteers are not the Glasgow 2014 Clydesiders, but are instead a team of "meeters and greeters" who'll provide the warmest of welcomes for newcomers to Glasgow.

Volunteers will be dotted around the city's hotspots, cultural hubs and sporting venues, there to assist the thousands of visitors making their way around the city.

Participants will have the opportunity to play an active part in helping in the success of the Games and showcasing their city.

You don't need to have had any previous experience to apply as full training will be given: all you need is a smile and a positive attitude.

Helping out at the Games could be a great addition to your CV as well as an incredible experience.

The roles are open to anyone over 16 who can commit to a minimum of four shifts, for up to five hours a shift, between July 23 and August 3.
