SWIMMING star Michael Jamieson has been told he will officially be competing at the Commonwealth Games this summer.
The Olympic silver medallist from Rob-royston is part of the 38-strong squad to don Team Scotland kit revealed yesterday.
He will join other top athletes including Commonwealth Gold medallist Robbie Renwick and Olympian Hannah Miley to battle it out for medals at Glasgow 2014.
Team Scotland bosses unveiled the competitors at a special event at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, the home of the Games swimming events.
James Heatly, grandson of the legendary diver Sir Peter Heatly, and 17-year-old Grace Reid were the only two divers to be selected.
A total of 12 athletes have not competed at a Commonwealth Games before.
Chef de Mission Jon Doig said: "Whilst there is a strong core of experience and success at the highest level, I am also excited to see so many new faces on the team who have been inspired to achieve their best in a quest to be part of Team Scotland at a home Games."
The announcement brings the total Team Scotland numbers selected so far to 92 with an anticipated team size in the region of 270 athletes.
