AN EARTHQUAKE survivor is bringing a unique scheme from his home country to South Lanarkshire.
New Zealand native David Searle moved to Hamilton last month with his Scottish wife Mary and is helping to set up a community network.
David is originally from Christchurch, which was devastated when an earthquake hit in 2011. He joined together with other residents there to create a Men's Shed network to help survivors.
Now he wants to help bring the initiative, which helps older people to forge new friendships, to South Lanarkshire by joining together with organisation Seniors Together. The scheme also helps people get involved in their community.
