STARS of BBC Radio 1Xtra will be heading to Glasgow next month for a one-night event.

The live show on Saturday, May 17 on the banks of the Clyde at Riverside Museum will showcase the best of urban music.

It is being staged the week before Radio 1's Big Weekend 2014 when big names including Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora and Paolo Nutini will perform at Glasgow Green.

Radio 1Xtra's MistaJam announced the Riverside event live on his show. He will be on the bill to DJ alongside fellow Radio 1 and 1Xtra Saturday night DJs Charlie Sloth and DJ Target. Also joining them on the main stage from the 1Xtra family will be DJ Semtex and CJ Beatz.

They will be joined by DJ Fresh, Duke Dumont and Breach who between them have been responsible for nine top 10 hits, including four number 1 singles. There will also be performances by special guests on the night.

MistaJam said: "The line-up is not only massive but also made up of artists I've had the pleasure of supporting on 1Xtra since the early days of their careers.

"Plus, the Glaswegian crowd really knows how to party so it's going to be the perfect way to start the summer."

A total of 4000 tickets will be made available in pairs from 7.30pm on Saturday April 26 and demand is expected to exceed supply.

It has been decided 70% of tickets will be reserved for those living in the Glasgow City Council area, 25% for the rest of Scotland with 5% available for the rest of the UK.

Tickets will be available online at www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra and by phone on 0844 873 7357. Calls made to the number before 7.30pm on Saturday, April 26 will not be answered but will still be charged.
